W elcome to 2022! I hope you started the new year well. For many of us, the new year is THE time when we set new goals for ourselves. I have made a few resolutions for myself this year, which I would like to implement for myself.
Unfortunately, 98% of New Year's resolutions fail. To prevent that from happening, I'm sharing four tips with you today to help you implement your New Year's resolutions with ease.
1 Find your WHY
The most important start in my opinion is to know your WHY. For example, do you want to live a healthier lifestyle, do you want to achieve a specific goal at work or just want to bring more exercise into everyday life? No matter what your resolution for this year, it is important that you know your why. Why do you want to start a certain project at work, why do you want to bring more movement into everyday life? Become 100% aware of why you made this intention.
It helps a lot if I write down my why. It helps me to be clear about what exactly I want to invite into my life and why I want it. By writing down your why, you will get clarity. It also helps you define your goal. It helps you get focus and see clearly what you want to invite into your life.
2 Taking small steps to the goal
The smallest step in your life can become the biggest change in the long run. Small steps get the ball rolling. Anyone who undertakes too much runs the risk of giving up again quickly. For example, if you've set out to run a half marathon and you've never run before, running 20 kilometers in a row can be very intimidating. However, if you start small, with 2-3 kilometers per day and then work your way up to 20 kilometers over the weeks and months, you have a much greater chance of sticking with it in the long term. After all, it's about sticking with it in the long term. The likelihood of implementing something in the long term is much greater if you start small and take small steps. A crash diet usually means that although you manage to lose weight, you cannot keep it up in the long term.
It is important that you go at your own pace. Those who look to the right and left only run the risk of being distracted. Everyone has their own pace. Find your own pace, take as big or small steps as is right for you and feels good. Getting too focused on how fast others are doing or what others are doing will only make you feel bad. Comparing is never the solution. The solution is that you have your goal in mind and walk towards the goal step by step, as quickly or slowly as is right for you.
3 How do I want to feel
In my opinion, this point is the most important of the listed points when it comes to implementing your resolutions in the long term. Of course, as mentioned before, it is important that you know your why. Not only do you have clarity about what you want to achieve and implement, it also helps you to maintain focus.
In the implementation of his resolutions, however, something very important cannot be missing. The right energy. If you try to achieve something with the wrong energy, you may be able to get it done, but most of the time it doesn't last long.
So ask yourself: How do I want to feel?
When we want to invite something into our life or undertake something that we want to implement and achieve, it is usually because we are looking for a certain feeling. It is therefore important that you empathize with yourself. How do you want to feel For example, if you want more success at work or you want to lose a few pounds, then it's about the feeling behind it. How does it feel to be more successful at work? How does it feel when you've lost the pounds. Connect with this feeling every day. So you automatically manifest more of it in your life and your resolutions can be implemented more easily and your goal is automatically closer and more tangible.
4 Create space
If we want to draw something into our lives, then it is important that we make space for it. You could also see it that way. The easiest way to break a bad habit is to replace it with a better one. For example, do you want to eat less chocolate? Then you will probably find it difficult to just stop eating chocolate. Instead, however, you could replace your previous chocolate with a slightly healthier chocolate. Or you can find a delicious snack that gives your body valuable nutrients. For example, you can choose a sweet fruit instead of chocolate or you can make yourself a delicious smoothie.
So if you have a specific resolution that you want to implement, such as doing more exercise, then you need to find a time window in your everyday life so that you have time to exercise. What can you put down that no longer serves you, how can you create space for the new that you want to invite into your life?
In carrying out your resolutions, it is important that you are not too strict on yourself. We all have bad days. Don't let these bad days get you astray. You are completely normal. Each of us has it. Without these bad days, the good days would not be what they are. It always takes two sides. Plus and minus, black and white, good and bad. Allow yourself to have these bad days. Always remember, you are doing your best. Your best does not look the same as that of your family or friends. So don't let others distract you. Go your own way, at your own pace and allow yourself to have good and bad days. You do your best and when you have a bad few days behind you tell yourself that it is okay and that tomorrow is a new day, another chance to choose a new opportunity.
I look forward to your feedback on how things are going with the implementation of your resolutions. Whenever you have any questions, just contact me, I am happy to be able to help.
All the best and all the best for the new year
