We have officially arrived in Fall and Libra time. From the Ayurvedic point of view, autumn is also Vata time, which means that the element AIR is very dominant at this time. Libra loves balance, it seeks equilibrium and it also stands for relationships.

Since wind and air are generally very dominant in autumn, it is all the more important, especially for the Libra energy, which is very dominant at this time, to ground yourself. The best way to ground yourself, to find balance for yourself, is through an extra dose of self-care, or in other words, some extra time for yourself.

So today I'm sharing 10 different ways to inspire you to bring more balance into your everyday life. In addition, at the end of the blog post, a delicious, nourishing and warm drink elixir is waiting for you, which you can enjoy whenever you feel like it.

Move your body in a nourishing way

When it comes to exercise, my mantra is: Move your body in a nourishing way

Especially in autumn, this mantra has more weight for me. I don't just move so that I have moved my body, I try to be in connection with my body. This is how I nourish my body and fill up my energy tank and feel good through the movement and yet not lack energy.

Journaling

Those who have been reading my posts for a while may know how much I love journaling or writing a diary in German. I can only recommend that you buy yourself a small notebook that appeals to you. Even if you're not a great writer, take a few minutes every day. You can easily freewrite or you can start by creating a gratitude list. Both can work wonders. On the one hand you penetrate deeper into your inner self and feel more, you are more mindful and more in the now and on the other hand there is a simple and yet so wonderful way how you can change your mood in a few minutes for the better.

In my book: NOURISH YOURSELF WITH SELF-LOVE, FOOD, AND SPIRITUALITY I write a lot about writing a diary and how you can easily integrate it into your everyday life.

Read a book

Just switch off and read a book. When do you ever have time for that? I try to schedule a reading evening 2-3 times a week, especially when the days are getting shorter and colder. Not only do I sleep much better afterwards, but it nourishes my soul and I really enjoy the peace and quiet around me.

Meditate

If you haven't tried meditation yet, now might be the time. Meditation brings so many benefits. More balance, less stress or better sleep are just a few here. Most importantly, if you are new to meditation, take it slow. 5 minutes a day can work wonders. Find a few guided meditations online that you like. The important thing is, less is more. It is much more important that you keep at it. So rather only 3-5 minutes every day, but every day.

Take a warm bath

A warm bath in the evening warms the body, mind and soul. Turn on some mantra music or wellness music, light a few candles and let your soul dangle in your bathtub.

Decorate your home

I love decorating the house with the kids for the season. It immediately brings autumn mood into the house and I still have the feeling that there is more balance in the house due to the autumn energy.

Bake a warming dish for your loved ones

I love to bake for my family. If you don't have time or you don't enjoy baking, maybe you can get some delicious cookies from the bakery around the corner and drink a glass of warm milk. Whatever warms your heart, there is no right or wrong either way.

Go for a walk in nature

A little walk in nature can do so much good. Be it just for 10 minutes. Treat yourself to a little break in autumn and walk in nature, connect with it and nourish your body, mind and soul.

Meet a friend for a coffee / tea

We humans are social beings. As the days get colder, the desire to go outside is not as great as it was in summer. Still, there are wonderful ways to meet up with friends, get out of the house, and do yourself a favor. In addition, autumn is THE TIME for a coffee date with delicious cake.

Enjoy a cozy movie night

The opposite of an evening with a wonderful book. Just turn on the TV and enjoy a great movie. I love it. I cover myself with my favorite blanket, make myself some tea or a hot-water bottle and enjoy just doing nothing.

I have attached a simple, delicious and nourishing drink for you, which I often prepare myself in the afternoon or evening when I need a bit of nourishing ME-TIME.

Vanille Roiboos Latte

Ingredients (for 1 cup):

  • 1 teabag organic rooiboos tea
  • 2dl water
  • 1dl plant milk of your choice
  • 1/4 teaspoon bourbon vanilla powder (can be bought in the supermarket)

Preparation:

Bring the water to a boil in a kettle or small pan, then pour the water into the cup and add the tea bag. Let everything stand for about 5 minutes. Meanwhile, warm the milk and after the 5 minutes remove the tea bag and add the milk. Use the vanilla powder as a topping or stir into the tea and enjoy immediately!

I wish you warm minutes with your vanilla rooibos tea and all the best
